ICPC inaugurates Students Anti-corruption Vanguard in Osun State University
In a bid to boost the participation of youths in the crusade against corruption, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), was in Osun State University yesterday May 10, 2017 where they inaugurated Student’s Anti – Corruption Vanguards (SAVs) for six Campuses of Osun State University.
The Students Anti- Corruption Vanguard is a club for students of all tertiary institutions in Nigeria and operates purely as an agent of corruption prevention by civil actions.
The inauguration, which took place at the University auditorium , had in attendance the School Vice Chancellor Professor Labode Popoola , some notable staff of the University, Students that were inaugurated and representative of ICPC.
The ICPC Chairman charged the members of SAV to complement the efforts of the Commission by educating fellow students on the ills of corruption; participating actively in social auditing; engaging in whistle blowing; and mobilizing fellow students to stand against corruption. He also assured the SAV members that ICPC would continue to offer necessary support to them to aid them in carrying out their lawful assignments in operating as undercover agents while warning them against using their office to intimidate, victimize or oppress other students.
