Uniosun Vice Chancellor visits Okuku Campus, promise to establish Microfinance Bank.
The newly appointed vice chancellor of Osun state university, Professor Labode Popoola visited okuku campus, one of the campuses of the university on 12th of January, 2017. The vice-chancellor met with the lecturers and the executives of the students affairs before meeting with the students.
During his first meeting,with the lecturers and excos , he stated that his mission is to rebuild the institution and that can only be done with everyone support. He mentioned his awareness of high absence of the staff before promising to make an enabling environment. He stated his interest in the school hostels which has been abandoned for years.
Professor Popoola met students immediately after his meeting with lecturer and encourage them to be hardworking. The VC also made a promise to build a microfinance bank for the school in the main campus with ATM across all campuses. The VC debunk rumor concerning the increase of school fees and pleaded with all student not to cause chaos concerning the increase in the matriculation and acceptance fees.
During the meeting with the students, the president of entrepreneur department pleaded with the VC on behalf of the students to extend the deadline of the school fees payment, this caused an uproar among students who expressed their support. The vice- chancellor replied that the portal will be opened if only high number of students expressed their dissatisfaction when the vice chancellor answered only two questions among many.
